This film explores the anxiety associated with body insecurities. I wanted to challenge my honesty about my performance of self-image. I often feel that my confidence is a type of performance and that I must first recognize my insecurities before letting them go when I leave to start my day. The harsh lighting and tight body shots reflect my dramatic inner thoughts about my insecurities. I used a kids’ song to contrast my inner thoughts, embrace discomfort for the audience, and remind them that insecurities and overthinking are feelings that we all deal with.
